As a dedicated supporter of women facing unique challenges, I offer Therapy for Women, a specialized service designed to help you navigate through life’s difficult transitions, including overcoming trauma from domestic violence, parental abuse, a history of toxic relationships, neglect, parenting difficulties, or experiences of sexual assault. In my practice, I create a safe and nurturing environment where we utilize a bio-psycho-social approach along with evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to foster healing and personal growth.

As an expert in women’s issues, I use a gender-focused lens to explore the ways in which a woman’s personal circumstances may be impacted by women’s gender role expectations, shaped by societal structures that are oppressive to women, and influenced by false ideas that all women are the same or should behave in some socially prescribed manner. 

As women we face a multitude of challenges that are often overlooked. We are nurturers, breadwinners, caregivers, leaders, and everything in between. When women feel silenced, a large portion of their potential is suppressed. It does not have to be this way for you. In therapy sessions with women, I enjoy being a part of women’s journeys to self love and attainment of personal goals. Positive change in your life affects everyone who surrounds you. This may be your children, your significant other, relatives, colleagues, friends, etc. Taking the time to unpack the difficult emotions that weigh you down, provides you with an opportunity to begin to engage with your social environment in a whole new way.

Whether you are struggling with perfectionism, setting boundaries, inner-critic (negative self-talk), inability to be your authentic self, or a need to re-parent your inner child, there are proven pathways to healing. There is no one-size-fits all process for overcoming the challenges that we as women are so often confronted with, however, there are evidence based methods that can absolutely transform your way of living in this imperfect world.

In our sessions together, you can expect a compassionate and confidential space that respects your personal journey:

  • Comprehensive Initial Assessment: At the outset, we will take a deep dive into your history and aspirations. Together, we will craft a personalized treatment plan tailored to address your specific needs and goals, taking into consideration your past experiences, as well as your current responsibilities, such as being a mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, student, professional, or other roles.

  • Creating a Safe Space: I am committed to providing a supportive space where you can freely express your emotions and thoughts without fear of judgment. This environment is crucial for exploring sensitive issues and fostering healing. Therapy sessions with me provide an environment that is free of gender expectations that affect women. You will have the space to openly express how you feel in all aspects of your life, such as talking about your experience as a woman in the workplace or educational setting; family challenges as a wife or mother; challenges as a woman who is childfree by choice or as a woman who is trying to conceive; difficult experiences as a single mother or single woman; body image and eating disorder issues; or perhaps challenges that affect you as a woman facing religious pressures. This is a space for you to be heard. 

  • Engagement in Proven Therapeutic Practices: We will engage in structured activities and thoughtful discussions based on CBT and CFT techniques, focusing on modifying unhelpful thinking patterns and boosting your self-compassion.
